Step 1: IPSS R&D division conducts security industry needs, assessment and consultation with companies and corporate organizations to determine capacity gaps.
Step 2: IPSS APDC- Academic Programs Development Committee, develops comprehensive range of education programs and ensures certification of security professionals who meet the set standards.
Step 3: IPSS provides holistic security consultancy services. IPSS has innovative Executive Selection Division (ESD) that helps potential employers find qualified security professionals through a streamlined, automated and immediate job posting.
Step 4: Crisis Management, Contingency Planning, Counter Terrorism, Crime and Risk Analysis etc.
Step 5: IPSS provides a well established Resource Centre that is dedicated to providing standards, processes, procedures, ethics and competence.
Step 6: IPSS R&D consultants in conjunction with Academic Programs Development; follow up IPSS members and graduates to provide them with individualized support in their day to day challenges.

This will ensure improvement in security management practices is evaluated and standards are maintained and spread throughout the East Africa Region. The institute organizes professional Security Forums, Exhibitions, Seminars and Conferences where key Personalities are invited as Guest Speakers for progressive professional development.
