Who we are

The Institute of Professional Security Studies (IPSS) is a member of the Protective Security Industry Association (PSIA) and in line with the PSIA mission to ensure high professional standards of service for all members; we are pleased to introduce you to IPSS.

 IPSS is an independent provider of professional specialized security training, offering a curriculum that is tailor-made to suit the private security industry in Kenya.

Established in 2004, the institute is committed to developing and promoting the practice of security as a professional career through the provision of harmonized and unified security management training as well as a structured professional career development program. This is aimed at offering security practitioners with relevant skills and knowledge that will enable them become proficient in security, crime and risk management services.

The Institute of Professional Security Studies (IPSS) is an independent institution, open to all security professionals with a common purpose and commitment to make a positive impact in the society and the security industry. The security profession is a lifetime of pursuing knowledge and, IPSS is therefore bringing the desired change in the present and future business security management challenges both locally and in the East African Region.

IPSS aims to be the preferred choice of security training and certification for the youth who have an interest in making a career in the private security industry.  We plan to achieve this by providing training, mentorship and possible linkages into internship and employment within Private Security Industry. The security courses are intended to impart the young people with skills and knowledge necessary in order to meet the demanding challenges brought about by insecurity within the country.
